Now, The main type of transmission line in Tianjin is Aluminum Conductor SteelReinforced. With the rapid economic and society growth in Tianjin, power demand isincreasing, the power grid dimension is enlarging. At the same time, the spaceresource and the ground resource is limited. In order to improve the transmissioncapability and save the society resource, a new type of overhead transmission line hasbeen presented in this paper. It’s featured in light weight, high intensity, low sag andhigh transfer capability, as well as strong corrosion resistance. Based on the situationof Tianjin power grid, by the analysis of future development of power grid and loaddemand, according to the goal of power grid framework, focusing on the voltagedegrees of500kV and220kV, in order to meet the requirements of constructingresource-saving and environment-friendly power grid, the application probability ofACCC has been put forward. Comparing to the traditional ACSR and typicalZTACSR, the economical and technical advantages of ACCC has been identified. Italso put forward some problems of engineering construction and application. And theresearch will be helpful for the power grid planning and construction of Tianjin infuture.
