An Empirical Study On The Influencing Factors Of Farmers’ Eco-environmental Behavior In Poor Areas

With the rapid development of industrialization and urbanization in China,the ecological environment problem has become increasingly prominent and an important restricting factor affecting the rapid development of economy.The 18 th National Congress formally included the construction of ecological civilization in economic construction,political construction,cultural construction,and social construction and together with the publication of the outline of the 13 th Five-Year Plan of National Ecological Protection,which emphasize once again the importance of building ecological environment.In China,mountainous area is vast and the ecology is more fragile than other regions.It has many features,which include poor natural condition,scarce resources,asymmetrical information and large poverty area.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the factors that affect the behavior of farmers’ environmental protection,and then put forward targeted improvement measures for improving the ecological environment.Due to the influence of the level of economic and social development and the particularity of the living environment,the peasants in the Qinba Mountains often sacrifice the ecological environment at the expense of their living and production behavior in order to pursue economic benefits.In view of this situation,this paper takes the environmental protection behavior of farmers in 14 sample villages in the poor counties of Qinba Mountain District in Gansu Province as the research object,and uses the logistic regression model to empirically analyze the factors influencing farmers’ environmental protection behavior.The results show that:(1)In the aspect of farmers’ living behavior,the treatment behavior of domestic garbage was significantly related to the educational level of the respondents and the community culture of peasant households,while the behavior of domestic garbage and domestic sewage treatment was significantly affected by their occupation and environmental protection propaganda;(2)In terms of farmers’ production behavior,the behavior of straw treatment 、 pesticide application and chemical fertilizer application showed significant influence.These factors include the cultural level of the respondents,household resident population,per capita income,cultivated land area,farmers’ awareness of the impact of straw treatment on the environment,government environmental protection propaganda,farmers’ participation in community culture and the role played by village cadres in the construction of rural community culture.It can be seen that the individual quality of farmers,family characteristics,environmental awareness,agricultural development model and non-economic factors more affect the farmers in the production of environmental protection behavior,but the impact on the life ofenvironmental protection behavior is not significant.Based on the results of empirical analysis,this paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1)encourage land circulation,amplify the effect of "seed money",develop national economy with special characteristics;(2)improve infrastructure construction,to promote the formulation of soil testing and develop green and organic agriculture;(3)to build information service platform,strengthen environmental protection policy propaganda,promote beautiful countryside construction with award and promote the construction of beautiful countryside;(4)excavate the local cultural connotation,give play to the role of village cadres,and create an ecological and livable new countryside.
