Hob is the most widely used complex cutting tool in gear machining.Its design and manufacturing level directly determine the quality of gear.With the application of gear to various fields of the national economy,especially in automotive automatic transmission,intelligent equipment,wind power,steam turbine,national defense military workers,industrial robots and precision transmission and other fields,it plays an important role.The type of hob is also increasing due to the transformation of gear applications,and its accuracy requirements are also rising.Therefore,hob design,manufacturing and testing technology need continuous research and progress.Hob design involves many parameters and interrelated,cumbersome calculation and heavy workload.The calculation process of the conventional design method is easy to make mistakes,resulting in the repetition of the design,and can not be modified online in real time.The production cycle of the hob is prolonged and the precision is difficult to guarantee,thus the production efficiency of the gear product is restricted.In view of the above problems,this research has done the following research.1.The selection and calculation method of the tooth shape and structure of the gear hob are analyzed,and the mathematical model between the hob's normal tooth shape and the machined gear tooth shape is established,thus the verification of the tooth shape of the workpiece after the hobbing is realized.2.The design method and application situation of variable pressure angle are analyzed,and the optimization process and specific method of gear hobbing of the front gear hob are summarized.The design of the end face structure parameters of the hob is described in detail.The statics analysis of the cutter tooth of the hob is carried out with the help of the finite element analysis software,which provides reference and verification for the parameters of the hob structure.3.Combining the two development of AutoCAD and Access based database access technology,a parameterized design system of hob is developed on the Microsoft.NET platform,and the design method of hob tooth shape and structural parameters is integrated into the developed design system.4.The system has been tested and operated in Hanjiang tools Limited Liability Company.It has good maneuverability and good stability.It can improve the design efficiency of the involute gear hob,reduce the design experience of the designer,improve the design quality,and reduce the design and development cost of the hob.It has a certain reference value for the intelligent manufacturing technology improvement of cutting tool manufacturers and the digital design and manufacture of other types of complex tools.
