As human society gradually transits to the information society,it has become today's focus of attention of academia and industry to improve design and innovation capability to meet rapidly changing market demand, in order for higher quality, lower cost and fewer lead time. Focusing on the parametric design of gear blank high-speed upsetting process and die, this paper provides a solution for serial shape product designing of similar shape with different size to improve the capabilities of product innovation and design, and shorten the product design cycle to enhance their innovation capability and shorten product delivery.First, the situation and developments of the high-speed upsetting process, the parametric design and parametric drawing technology and the AutoCAD secondary development were outlined. The related principles and theories of the key technologies were described and discussed, such as AutoCAD ActiveX Automation , database and data structure, focusing on complex two-dimensional curve drawing, and the concept of arc vertices was proposed, and a dynamic arc vertex array class clsVerts was build in order to optimize the parametric design and parametric drawing of the complex two-dimensional curve, improving the complex two-dimensional curve design and drawing quality and efficiency.Guided by the object oriented design ,with the clsVerts class as a tool, and based on the AutoCAD secondary development, this paper has designed to establish a user interface and database and database tables. This paper designed the program for the parametric design and parametric drawing of gear blank high-speed upsetting process and die, completed the design and drawingof the cold forging drawing, the process drawings and the final forging die of the AMP 70 high-speed upsetting machine, providing an important key technology and ideas for the further promotion of AutoCAD second development in the enterprise, with important practical reference value.
