Beacause of high bearing capacity, smooth transmission, high transfer efficiencyand many other advantages, helical bevel gears are mainly used in large heavy miningmachinery engineering. At present, gear-shapingmachine of mechanical straight toothand helical bevel gear is gradually replaced by CNC milling gear machine, for itsprocessing manufacturing is complex and quality control is really more difficult. Inorder to take full advantage of CNC gear milling machine in flexibility.Based on thehelical bevel gears uniqueness of the structure and generating machining principle, thispaper puts forward the helical bevel gear numerical control machining method andexplores the theory and experiments.Firstly, with gear engagement theory and space geometry kinematic theory, thispaper deduces the equation of the helical bevel gears tooth surface, and makes theparametric three-dimensional molding by the Pro/E software. According to thestructure characteristics of the helical bevel gears and generating machining method, ahelical bevel gear cutting processing method is presented, and a fixture of millingprocess as the auxiliary device is designed in this paper.Then, according to the characteristics of the structure type of the disc milling tool,the tool library is created. the cutting tool path is calculated with the generatingmachining method. Create a good gear model into Pro/NC processing module, andgenerate tool path file, and then generate helical bevel gear NC machining programcode through the the post processor.Finally, a multi axis NC milling simulation model is established with machiningsimulation system software VERICUT. Gear cutting simulation is applied Helicalbevel gear. The simulation results achieve the intended purpose and show that thehelical bevel gear cutting processing method is feasible in this paper.
