Problems And Optimization Of Ecological Compensation Mechanism In Suzhou

Ecological compensation mechanism is an important way for China to deal with the environment problem in the new period.In recent years all the governments from central to local are promoting the construction of ecological civilization.Some of them have started the project of ecological compensation.As for Suzhou,the government proposed to establish and consolidate the ecological compensation mechanism as early as 2010 and has successfully made the basic frame with so many years' effort which also brought plenty of experience.As a kind of public resource,ecological environment has its own attribute which determines the fact that the ecological compensation work can only be led by governments though it requires the action from not only governments but also the whole society.On the issue that the government takes too much responsibility in the work of ecological compensation while few of the market entities have taken part in,and the lack of supervision leads to a low efficiency in certain areas,this article finds the root of these problems and points out that we should let the market entities play a role in the ecological compensation based on the improvement of the basic system of ecological compensation and the ability of government,and finally make a good situation for the whole society to take part in the ecological compensation.
