| Clothing color perception is one of the most sensitive and dominant factors which affects consumer buying decision. With the continuous improvement of consumer demand, people have paid increasingly attention to the design and application of color perception. Therefore, the characteristics of color perception have been studied in this paper from subjective impression and objective physiological response.For subjective evaluation, clothing color perception has been selected and classified into eight types. Through a large number of vocabulary acquisition and questionnaire survey, the expression of color perception has been obtained and screened out. The representative word pairs were Expansive-Contractive (E-C), Far-Close (F-C), Soft-Hard(S-H), Light-Heavy (L-H), Warm-Cool (W-C), Excited-Depressed (E-D), Extroverted-Introverted(E-I) and Gorgeous-Plain(G-P). Then grade evaluation of clothing color perception has been accomplished by semantic differential method.For response evaluation, two experiments were designed to investigate the individual response. The experiments measured the speed of response to different color stimuli, which could be used to characterize the color recognition. The experimental results showed that the recognition rate between individuals is comparable, which could reflect the characteristics of the color perception. The correlation analysis was carried to study the relationship between perception level and recognition rate. It indicated that there was a significant positive correlation.For physiological evaluation, the EEG experiment of clothing color was designed and measured the energy distribution and stability of the corresponding rhythm. The results showed that the higher the energy distribution of β rhythm is, the longer the response time is, the slower the recognition speed is. It meant that people need to more think and judge to the color induced more β rhythm in the cognitive process. The experimental results illustrated that Warm-Cool, Extroverted-Introverted and Gorgeous-Plain of color perception greatly influence on EEG, and had a significant positive correlation with β rhythm.The research results of clothing color perception have been used to discuss the coloring skills of leisurewear, sportswear, business wear and social wear, and to analyze clothing color design method of H-body human, O-body human, X-body human, A-body human and V-body human, and to explore color matching method of peaceful human, lively human, mature human and powerful human.In the study, characterization of clothing color perception has been researched from vocabulary evaluation, stimulus response and EEG. The results provided a theoretical reference for clothing color design and clothing color match. |
