The Study Of Yi-Nationality Silverware Decorative Patterns In Butuo County,liangshan Yi-Nationality Autonomous Prefecture

Yi nationality has ancient culture and Yi people are mainly distributed in China's southwest regions,including Guizhou,Sichuan,Yunnan,etc.Liangshan Yi-nationality Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan Province is the largest Yi-nationality community.Therefore,it is also the place where Yi culture gets together.As the carrier of Yi culture,Yi – nationality silverware handcraft skills had been listed in the second batch of state-level intangible cultural heritage in 2008.Butuo County has been said as “the hometown of Yi – nationality silverware ” for quite a long time.Yi – nationality silverwares in this area have unique national style,diverse patterns and themes as well as wide range of application,etc.which present Yi people's advanced handcraft making level in terms of modeling,style and technique.Through the in-depth study on Yi–nationality silverware patterns in Butuo County,this paper strives to explore the history and culture,social customs and habits and aesthetic tendency of Yi people in the region,which is beneficial to reflect how to achieve better protection and inheritance of the traditional handcraft skills of China's ethnic minorities.Starting with Yi–nationality silverware decorative patterns in Butuo County,this paper uses many research methods of documentary analysis,field investigation,comparison,induction,etc.to make a systematic and overall illustration about the cultural characteristics of the silverware decorative patterns from the perspectives of many subjects,such as aesthetics,ethnology,anthropology of art,etc.,which is aimed at discussing the uniqueness and value of local Yi–nationality silverwares.According to the data obtained at present,there are little theoretical research results concerning Yi–nationality decorative patterns in Butuo County and the study on Yi – nationality decorative patterns from the perspective of silverware is also incomplete.Through a great deal of field work,the author of the paper collects lots of local silverware decorative patterns and participates in the design and making process of small silverwares,through which the author has a rough understanding on subject classification,making tools and process of Yi–nationality silverware decorative patterns in Butuo County.Based on the field work,the paper takes Yi–nationality silverware decorative patterns in Butuo County as the study object.Firstly,it uses some cultural concepts,such as “national and cultural identity”,“geographical area”,etc.,to reveal the highlighted regional characteristics caused by regional differences;secondly,the paper analyzes multiple religious beliefs of Yi–nationality to interpret the cultural connotations of Yi–nationality silverware decorative patterns in Butuo County;thirdly,it uses modern construction art theory to interpret the organizational forms and formal beauty law of Yi–nationality silverware decorative patterns in Butuo County,thus explaining the aesthetic consciousness of “symmetry”,“beauty of fullness”,“primitive beauty”,etc.which exist in Yi–nationality silverware decorative patterns in Butuo County.Through the above analysis,the paper interprets aesthetic psychology and special national character of Yi people in the region and further illustrates the practical value and cultural value of Yi–nationality silverware in Butuo County.Finally,through a comparative analysis of the research,the paper is aimed at exploring the development vein of the local Yi-nationality silverware under the background of cultural integration and finding out the changeable and unchangeable internal and external factors under the background of globalization.Besides,the paper makes a systematic analysis into the current situation of the protection and inheritance of Yi-nationality silverware and decorative patterns in Butuo County and explores the effective protection path that suits local Yi-nationality silverware and patterns,which may lead more people to realize the development prospect of the folk traditional handcrafts.In a word,local Yi-nationality silverware and patterns are cultural treasures inside the ethnic group and also the carrier of national culture.This paper focuses on the discussion of the survival context,classification,etc.of Yi-nationality silverware and patterns and aims at seeking the internal cause why local Yi-nationality silverware and patterns occur rheological phenomenon in the process of historical evolution.Meanwhile,it has irreplaceable value and is of great significance to study Yi-nationality civilization history or even the history of Chinese civilization,research on national culture and national folk arts and crafts as well as inherit and develop intangible cultural heritage.
