Grinding is one of the more widely used machining methods.As being used most frequently and widely,grinding wheel's surface structure and morphology have a vital influence on grinding process.With diamond wheel has a high hardness and it is usually used in precision machining,non-contact measuring method is adopt when measuring diamond grinding wheel's surface.Based on vertical scanning white light interference measurement method,a special grinding wheel measurement device is needed at this time.However,in reality,there are many different kinds of grinding wheel.It is not convenient to disassemble and assemble when measuring grinding wheels with different inner holes' diameters and cannot locating precisely.In this paper,the design and optimization of measuring wheel positioning are present,by using wedge claw type automatic centering clamping mechanism,and specifying grinding wheels which diameter of its inner holes is between 30 mm to 40 mm,this mechanism is convenient to disassemble and assemble and capable to fastening and locating immediately.Also,this mechanism can guarantee a high alignment requirement between grinding wheel and the axis of rotation.At the same time,this mechanism is well-knit,lightweight and can remain a small deformation.Thus,it's helpful to measuring grinding wheels.In this paper,the main research work is as follows:(1)From the well-used locating and fastening method,this paper discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the automatic centering clamping devices and applications.By comparing design of corrugated casing centralizer with that of wedge claw type centering fixture,the wedge claw type wheel centering fixture positioning clamping is used in this mechanism.According to the steps of jig design,this paper studied the working principle of the clamping device,made the detail drawing and assembly drawing of the fixture,achieved the design requirements.(2)By using relative theories such as mechanics of materials and mechanical design,this paper checked the important parts in wedge claw type centering fixture theoretically and it fully meet the requirements of strength and stiffness.This theoretical calculation is only estimation and error is big.To fit the real situation,finite element analyzing is need to improve checking accuracy.(3)By using the finite element theory,model the wedge claw type centering fixture according to the actual size of each part in solidworks software and import into the ansys software,and add boundary conditions.Through doing finite analyzing on to the actual situation of wedge claw type automatic centering clamping device in various parts,the actual deformation and displacement are correspond to those of theoretical analyze and the maximum stress is less than the allowable stress.It meets the strength requirement.
