Current anti-skid deck coatings suffer from draw backs like poor heating resistance,easy-aging,low friction coefficient and so on,which triggers this fundamental research on the novel heat-resistant skid proof deck coatings.In this study,the SH-023-7 silicone resin modified by bisphenol A type epoxy was used as the resin matrix,which was combined with the alumoxane particles prepared from boehmite and fumaric acid.Thus the alumoxane/ epoxy-modified silicone(inorganic / organic)hybrid resincoating was prepared,while the influence of the alumoxane particles on the mechanical properties of the resin based material was investigated.Moreover,via the orthogonal experiments of diverse pigments,fillers and coating materials,the effects of various pigments and fillers on the properties of coatings were studied as well,which resulted in the optimized ratio of these materials.Furthermore,properties of the coating materials like the wear resistance and skid resistance were both enhanced,as the surface structure of coating materials was improved by the addition of skid proof particles and addition agent.Also,the corrosion resistance of this coating was tested.Consequently,the optimizedformulation of the coating was determined,and the alumoxane reinforced coating with high performances like excellent anti-skid property,heat resistant and corrosion resistant was prepared successfully,which met the requirements for deck coating.In this study,the SH-023-7 silicone resin modified by BPA-type epoxy was applied as the resin matrix material,which reacted with20 wt % of 650# polyamide curing agent.Then the coating film with theadhesion of level 1,an abrasion amount of 27.1 mg,a frictional coefficient of 0.62 and resistance temperatureup to 450? was therefore prepared,whose properties surpass those of coating films from XSJ-168 and HT-58 epoxy-modifiedsilicone resin.Meanwhile,alumoxane particles were prepared via the sol-gel method,by the reaction between boehmite and para-hydroxybenzoic acid,para-aminobenzoic acid,salicylic acid and fumaric acid,respectively.These reactions were carried on in deionized water,through the condensation reflux at 100? for 18 hours.Particles prepared from fumaric acidperformed the best thermal stability and contained less impurities groups,thanks to the highest pyrogenation temperature of fumaric acid,which contributed most to the improvement of resin matrixproperties.Thus alumoxane particles obtained from fumaric acid and boehmite were selected toreinforce resin matrix material,to prepare inorganic / organic composite coating.It was found that such inorganic / organic composite coatingdisplayed the best properties,with the first level of adhesion,a friction coefficient of 0.70,an abrasion amounts of 19.7 mg and an resistance temperatureup to 450?,as the addition of alumoxane particles reached 10wt% of the resin matrix.Based on such inorganic / organic material,diverse pigments,fillers,anti-skid particles and addition agents were added,in order to improve the anti-skid and heat-resistant properties of coating.The addition of pigments and fillers greatly reduced the costs while upgraded the performances,and the optimizedaddition was determined by orthogonal experiments.Namely,when the addition of TiO2,ZnO and talc were 48-52wt%,38-42wt% and 38-42wt% of the resin separately,this novel coating performed an adhesion of level 1,an abrasion amount of 3.2 mg and a friction coefficient of 0.80,together withthe resistancetemperature up to 500 ?.Additionally,as the anti-skid particles(alumina particles)reached 30wt% of resin matrix,it couldfurtherimprove the wear resistance and anti-skid properties to the utmost:The level of adhesion was 1 and it remained stable at 500 ?,together withanabrasion amount of 11.7 mg and a friction coefficient of 0.86.Ultimately,the BYK-330 type flatting agent as well asthe deform type defoaming agent were added at the weight of 1-2% of the resin,to improve the flow ability and reduce the bubbles,hollows,shrinkage cavities during the preparation.As a result,the alumoxane reinforced anti-skid,heat-resistant coating with high performance was obtained,whose filmsurface drying time was 3h and the actual drying time was 14 h.The coating developed in this study was tested in seawater and sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate solution,which stayed unruffled and colorfast for7 days,implying the outstanding corrosion resistant property.In a nutshell,the optimized formulation are as follows: Group A consists of 14-16 g of silicone resin modified by epoxy,1.4-1.6g of alumoxane particles,7.2-7.8g of titanium dioxide,5.7-6.3g of zinc oxide,5.7-6.3g of talc,4.4-4.6g of alumina particles,0.23-0.3g of BYK-330 type flatting agent and 0.15-0.3g of deform type defoaming agent.Group B is comprised of 2.8-3.2g of 650#polyamide and proper amount of acetone.This coating performs excellent anti-skid property,wear resistance,heat resistance and corrosion resistance,with the level-1 adhesion and an abrasion amount of 11.3 mg.Moreover,the friction coefficients of it in dry and wet situation are 0.88 and 0.72 respectively,in addition to the resistance temperature up to 500 ?.This study provides a novel kind ofcoating material for special environments,such as the aircraft carrier deck.
