The Magical Costume

The development of human history,the progress of civilization and the influence of natural environment,was born the logical national culture and art which contains different style between different nationalities and different regions,it is these various flowers of human civilization make a vitality and bright world nation culture community.Ethnic costumes,as an important component of Chinese folk art,it is a form of culture or a cultural symbol which created by all ethnic groups in the historical process of the production practice.As a cultural carrier,ethnic costumes carry the historical change,production practice,totem worship of the nation,and the deep connotation of life consciousness.The “She” nationality of Majiang county,Guizhou province,(referred to as the "She" of Majiang),has created rich culture art with its unique aesthetic interest and inheritance of thought,especially the clothing art reveals the Shes' national spirit and artistic charm vividly which has a precious intangible cultural heritage value.This thesis still based on the theory of art and the theory ofanthropology,studying the She's clothing of Majiang in the background of the development of human culture and art.The thesis has divided into three chapters,the first chapter has madea historical retrospection of the “She” of Majiang,using the methods of“origin test”and “migration test” in folklore toinvestigate the “She” of Majiang's history origin,migration and its history change of clothing art,which provides a certain historical basis for the exploration of the artistic features and cultural connotation of the “She” of Majiang.Chapter two has given a specific explanation of the clothing styles and characters of women and men of “She” people in Majiang with pictures;moreover,it made a comparison from the characteristics of similarities and differences of “She” costume between Majiang and coastal areas,which make the thesis much more open-ended and extensibility.The thesis also used the methods of aesthetics and arts to analyze the Imagine beauty,color beauty,modeling beauty and austerity beauty of the dress style.The third chapter has used semiotic theory to analyze the symbol meaning of “She” costume of Majiang and explore the implicated culture and “She” people's life consciousness.It also discussed that as a kind of media,“She” costume has played an important role in the process of spreading and building “She” culture.At last,it gives effective suggestions for the spreading of “She”costume of Majiang by drawn from the experience of inheriting the intangible culture to the surrounding areas andcombined with the era background of the development of the network media.Additional,the thesis expected to letmore people pay attention to these treasures which are facing the verge of localization,so as to realize the value of this thesis.
