The Dependence Of Wage Income On Carbon Emissions In China

The issue of global warming has been a growing concern,and reducing greenhouse gas emissions,especially carbon emissions,is a common problem for all countries.China as a responsible and responsible country,in order to solve the climate warming problem has introduced a series of carbon reduction policies,help to promote international carbon emissions reduction agreement as soon as possible.Because of that our country being a vital stage of rapid development of industrialization and urbanization,once the traditional fossil energy consumption and extensive development mode based on carbon emission reduction is restricted,it is bound to affect the development of the whole national economy.On the one hand,from a macro perspective,the wage income growth as an important indicator to measure the performance of a country's national economic development,labor wage income growth is related to the event in the process is beneficial to the people's livelihood,carbon emission reduction,when the economic development is affected by the may spread to the industry wage income growth.On the other hand,from the view of the industry and the enterprise,the change of wages directly affects the production cost,production and profitability of the industry and enterprise,and then affects the long-term sustainable development of the industry.Since 1978 year,China's industry has got great development,the industrial economic growth has become the main engine of China's economic growth,people's living standard has been greatly improved at the same time in the labor wage income has also been rapid growth,but also the traditional economic development is too dependent on fossil energy consumption,emissions of the carbon dioxide in the air,with the more and more attention to the greenhouse effect problem in the world,carbon reduction has become an inevitable trend.Under this background,the research of labor wage income growth dependence on carbon emissions,on the one hand,it help us efficientand high quality complete set emission reduction targets and undertake corresponding international obligations,contribute to the constraints of carbon emission reduction in the other hand,in order to increase the wage income problem of industry put forward the corresponding policy recommendations.Based on the 2005-2013 years of Chinese industry dynamic panel data respectively using the System GMM(GMM)and differential GMM(differential GMM)of Chinese industrial carbon emissions impact on wage income and China industrial carbon intensity on wage income influence empirical test method.The results obtained by the two methods are very different,which shows that the regression results are stable:(a)the overall industry wage income increase in China,consumption of fossil energy to a certain extent,carbon emissions have positive dependence;changes in carbon emissions departmentized influence on industry wage income growth due to technical level are different.(b)on the whole,the reduction of carbon intensity in the industry has a positive effect on the growth of wage income,while the sub sectors have a positive effect on wage income.The relatively low level of carbon intensity has a negative impact on wage growth.(c)In China's industrial sector,wage income growth greatly depended on carbon emission,the relatively low level of technology sector,carbon emission reduction has a positive impact on wage income growth;wage income growth is less dependent on carbon emissions,the relatively low level of technology department.Carbon emission reduction has a negative effect on wage income growth.(d)China's industrial sector is still dominated by the relatively low level of technology sector.Finally,combined with the results of empirical analysis,this paper puts forward some policy suggestions:(a)Improving the level of technology is the key to reduce the dependence of labor wage income on carbon emissions.(b)The carbon reduction targets for different elements of the Department is not suitable for the "blanket" policy means,but should be to set emission reduction targets according to the development characteristics of different level of technology and industry,such as the Department of primary products and labor-intensive and resource intensive sectors with higher carbon reduction targets,and for low technology manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing sector can be appropriate to reduce its carbon reduction targets.(c)The relatively low level of technology is the major problem of restricting China's carbon emissions and income increase,the reason is mainly due to China's current industrial structure in favor of primary products and Department of labor and resource intensive departments should establish a series of forced mechanism,promote the continuous upgrading of industrial structure.
