With the development of technology,chemical production unit is more and more large,continuous and automation,leading to college students difficult to enter the plant to practice,however,internship is a required course for students majoring in chemical engineering.Therefore,this subject develops the whole level virtual simulation teaching software for MTBE unit,meeting the requirements of students to understand internships and production practice,and simulating the start-ups,shutdowns,accident handling and other process of the whole set of equipment.The main research contents of this subject include establishing mathematical models,developing imitation DCS system and constructing 3D virtual environment of the MTBE unit.Combining with the process of MTBE unit,this paper introduces the mathematical models of important units,including pipe network,centrifugal pump,heat exchanger,reactor,extraction and catalytic distillation column.In order to meet the requirements of simulation speed,the mathematical models of reactor and catalytic distillation column simplify the mechanism reasonably according to the characteristics of equipments.Development of the imitation DCS system includes four parts:point configuration,flow chart configuration,standard screen configuration,communication configuration,its operation interface and function consistent with the real DCS,meeting the training needs of control room operators.This paper also introduces the construction of 3D virtual environment,which almost consistent with the real plant,making students have a sense of immersion,in addition to that,this software adds the knowledge learning and assessment links to the virtual environment,inspection link,allowing students to carry on chemical cognition practice and production practice in the software.In this paper,the simulation results of the software are described and compared,which show that:first,students can be familiar with the virtual environment quickly and operate skillfully,finishing internship task.Second,the error between steady state simulation data with actual data is small,indicating that the simulation accuracy of the mathematical models is better.Third,results of the dynamic simulation show that the response speed and trend of mathematical models are very good,meeting the requirements of simulation speed.Therefore,the software developed in this project can be used to train students or operators.
