The stamping of high strength sheet metal is a very complicated physical process , the high strength sheet is more likely to produce the phenomenon such as fracture , wrinkle and springback than normal sheet in punch forming , so the precision is difficult to control . The forming process which include geometric nonlinearity, material nonlinearity and boundary nonlinear is highly diverse dynamic . With the improvement of steel strength and enhanced ability of resist deformation , the forming force of sheet should be larger, that lead poor formability , crack and springback , it is difficult to ensure the accuracy of parts . For some complex parts, the traditional cold stamping process is not suitable .Hot stamping technology is for the high strength steel plate stamping forming . In hot stamping , the forming and quench of sheet proceed in the same time . The workpiece through hot forming is generally used in automotive industry , and the workpiece will have the higher strength , lighter quality , better performance of impact resistance . Compared with cold stamping process, hot forming has the advantages of good formability , high precision and producing complex parts . In order to proceed the hot stamping forming of sheet metal accurately , avoid testing and repairing the mold for a long time and reduce production cost,we can use large-scale finite element analysis software to carry on the simulation.In this study , the simple U-shaped workpiece in hot stamping forming is used as research object to be deeply researched through the combination of numerical modeling and experiments analysis , and than research the affects to the performance of sheet metal forming when changing the initial forming sheet metal temperature, forming rate and the holding time .Discussing how to synergistically control the initial forming temperature , forming rate and the holding time in stamping process of the sheet metal , determining the optimization scheme , to achieve shape and quality control integration forming of sheet metal and get the workpiece which accord with the requirement of practical production.
