With the increase requirement of the development of manufacturing to gear loadbearing, power transmission, transmission speed, service life and low noise,it mustimprove gear machining accuracy and hardness. Compared with generating method ofpoint contact, gear forming wheel grinding has an advantage in the processing of highhardness and improved gear precision which have a wide range of process, universalgood, it can grind various trim profile, high grinding efficiency, high profile accuracy,especially for large modulus, large tooth width, less gear teeth grinding characteristicswhich favored by the market.During gear form grinding process, accompanied by a verysmall range of high strain, high strain rate and instantaneous high temperature risingproblem which is a typical thermal coupling process and directly affects the toothsurface processing quality. Nowadays,there has been a lot of research about thegrinding force, grinding heat during the traditional way of gear grinding at home andabroad,but the research on the grinding force, grinding heat and thermo-mechanicalcoupling of gear form grinding interface is not so much.Therefore, thethermo-mechanical coupling phenomena of gear form grinding interface are analyzed,the main contents are described below:Gear form grinding force modeling. Analysis of the significance and method ofgear form grinding force, according to the gear involute nature, combined withtheoretical formulas for surface grinding force and unit grinding force, the mathematicaltheoretical models of spur gear form grinding force was established based on theanalysis of spur gear form grinding principle and geometry model which provides atheoretical and experimental basis for the field of study on gear form grinding force.The thermal model for gear form grinding temperature field. According to thecharacteristics of the temperature field of form grinding contact interface, the newthermal model for gear form grinding temperature field was established after improvedgeneral grinding temperature thermal model. Thermal burns of gear form wheelgrinding were analyzed and the corresponding preventive measures were proposed.The analysis of thermo-mechanical coupling of gear form grinding interface.Proposed the corresponding decoupling method of thermo-mechanical coupling,therefore, provides the related ideas to further analyze the thermo-mechanical couplingof gear form grinding.Finite Element Simulation of gingle grain grinding.Single grain grinding force andgrinding temperature field on gear tooth surface were simulationed and analyzed byDeform-3D.
