The Experimental Research And Design Of Wool Felt In Garment

Felted wool is considered as one of the oldest technology of fiber processing.It has a delicate appearance and excellent material properties,even if the mechanisation is dominated in today's morden life,yet the simplicity and warmness of the original state from felt fabric will give us a mental telepathy and freshness.It will be active in future's clothing industry.However,the practices of the material in nowadays use make us realized it could do a better job and has the capacity for development.The article is divided into four section.Firstly,starting from study the historical evolution of wool felt;the type of traditional products and the process of felt making,with the history of the development of wool felts in the nomadic people of Inner Mongolia to explore the essence of felted wool in the historical period;Secondly,researching the different possibilities of felt fashion from the three design directions:style modeling,processing technology and color pattern of wool felt fashion design and analyzing the aesthetic form of wool felt in fashion design and its practical significance;Subsequently,through the research in the three part:the making and distribution,the composite experiments of wool felt with different materials and the different exploration of fabric shape in the modern fashion design,whcih to explores a rich use between different materials and craft methods through a large number of purposeful manual felting experiments,and also puts forward the ways to its languages;Finally,aim at the future of wool felt in fashion industry,the last section discussed the direction,technique and development.This paper hopes through the experimental research and combine with the design elements to find a cohering interest between the traditional and the modern craftsmanship of felt.Renovating the material which can be further integrated with the modern life.
