As a newly-devenloped category of material,plastic has a wide range of application.Because plastic has high resistivity and shows a trait of electrically insulated,it often causes severe dangers such as discharging and firing due static accululation,and restricts its application.This paper starts with introducing diffrent kinds of antistatic methods and principle,then the domestic and foriegn research progress in polymer atistatic agent and charastristic and advantage of ionomer anstatic agentIn the experimental chapters,firstly,polypropylene was blending modificated with commercial ionomer Entira which worked as antistatic agent.It was discovered that the surface resistivity and volume resistivity of material decreased with the increasing of Entira content.When the content of Entira was 40%,the surface resistivity and volume resistivity of material showed a sudden decrease and droped 8orders of magnitude compared to pure PP and reached respectively 5.05X108? and9.74X108?·cm,it met the standard of antistatic material.The percolation threshold of Entira in this system was proved to be around 40%.There was no obvious change in material's resistivity after a long time,which proved the antistatic effect of Entira is permanent.After the adding of Entira,the tensile strength were droped and impact toughness were lifted.DSC test showed the crystallnity of PP decreased with the increasing of Entira.TGA test showed the thermostability of the modified PP improved with adding Entira.Rotational rheology test showed that the adding of Entira could cause the increase of melt viscosity.SEM pictures showed that Entira is of good compatibility with PP.Taken EEA and KOH as main raw material,the ionomer antistatic agent which is similar to Entira in structure was prepared in torque rheometer via saponification reaction.Through research on preparation process,the optimum process condition was determined as screw temperature 140 ?,with the screw speed of 50 rpm for 6minutes.With the increasement of KOH,the resistivity of product has decreased obviously and the melt viscosity has increased.DSC showed that with the increasing of KOH,the crystallization peak of EEA has weaken,besides,there occured a new crystallization peak of Potassium acrylate segment in a lower temperature.TGA test showed with the increasing of KOH proportion,the water absorbency andthermostability of matiral was lifted.Orthogonal test was applied by changing the proportion of EEA,KOH and dimeric dibasic acid.The analysis showed that the best formula of this triad was EEA/KOH/dimeric dibasic acid(80/5/5).Then PP was blending modificated with the ionomer antistatic agent via the saponification reaction above.It was discovered that the surface resistivity and volume resistivity of material decreased with the increasing of ionomer content.When the content of ionomer was 40%,the surface resistivity and volume resistivity of material showed a sudden decrease and droped 8 orders of magnitude compared to pure PP and reached respectively 9.89x108? ? 7.90x108?·cm.The low resistivity remained unchanged after months,so the antistatic effect of our ionomer was permenant.With the increasement of ionomer,the tensile strength of material droped just like what happened in Entira/PP system.The crystallnity of PP decreased and then increased with the adding of ionomer which is different from Entira.In ionomer/PP system the thermostability increased in similar extent as Entira/PP system.Comparing with Entira,the adding of ionomer caused a bigger lift in material's melt viscosity.SEM pictures indicates that the compatibility of PP and ionomer is not good.In general,the commercial Entira and ionomer via saponification reaction can both bring a good and everlasting antistatic effect when blending with PP.Comparatively speaking,the effect of ionomer and Entira on PP's antistatic performance,tensile strength and thermostability was similar,but it was weaker in melt flowability for saponificated ionomer.In summary,saponificated ionomer antistatic agent came close to most of properties with Entira,and it has the potential of replacing this kind of foreign product.
