A Research On The Influence Of Collar Dividing Angle Of Man’s Suit On Neck Best Fit

Collar is one of the most important parts of a suit.It is set on the most conspicuous part of the suit.Therefore,a well-tailored collar design conveys elegance and improves image.The design of the collar of a suit is inseparable from the structure of neck.At present domestic researches on suit collars are mainly constrained to gradient data of lapel collar.However,the studies which take both the structure of should and neck and the collar dividing angle into account are lacked.So only a comprehensive mastery of and a flexible application of the relationship between the interior structure of the collar and the exterior structure of shoulder and neck can ensure a dashing,comfortable and suitable collar design on man’ s suit.All of these makes collar diving angle more scientific,practical and accurate.And therefore they contribute to the design of dividing collars.This thesis is composed of four parts.The introduction talks about the object,content,intention,method of the thesis and the research status of suit collar study which paves the way and guides for the following studies.The second part of the thesis illustrates the definition of suit collar as well as dress code,analyzes the features of collar design on man’ s suit and talked about the use of different fabrics on man’ s suit.Then in the thesis a comparison is made between the traditional suit’ s collar design and the dividing collar design.Gradient data of traditional suit collar is decided by formula to make sure that the collar fit snugly to the suit.And then the inner side of the collar is made to attach to the neck by fabrication processing.The dividing suit collars fit snugly on the suit by closing up the dart and measuring the angles.These methods are also effective to make collars on all kinds of popular suit comfortably.The third part of the thesis is concerned with structural features and the measurement of man’ s shoulder and neck.It also collects and analyzes data of shoulder slope and the arcs of different collar types.Then the fourth part of the thesis makes a detailed investigation on the dividing angle of man’ s suit from the following five aspects:shoulder and neck structure,collar stand,lapel width,shell fabric and style design.So in the end a data base of the collar dividing angle of suit is compiled.The fourth part is the focus and the most creative part of the whole thesis.It is concerned with the principles of collar dividing angle on man’ s suit and with practical analysis.It promotes the development of collar dividing angle design on man’ s suit.There are many aspects that influence the structural design of collar dividing angle on man’ s suit.By practical analysis and making many experiments necessary factors are recognized and then it enriches collar dividing angle design on man’ s suit and provides designers with valuable design parameters.
