As a guiding and bearing component, the linear rolling guide(LRG) has been widely used in basic manufacturing equipment by the virtue of its high-speed and high-precision. The contact problem with rolling elements of LRG is the key to study the dynamic characteristics, and lubrication has a great influence on the contact. Therefore, researching the LRG's lubricating contact has great significance to the overall level of CNC machine. This paper has applied Newton-Raphson numerical method to calculating the isothermal line-contact's elastic hydrodynamic lubrication(EHL) and made targeted improvements to accelerate computing efficiency while ensuring the accuracy of the results which are very consistent with the empirical formula, finally the elastic hydrodynamic film thickness and stress distribution under different conditions has been calculated to establish the LRG's lubricating-contact model.Further, combined with Hertz theory, the line contact's lubricating-contact model has been promoted and simplified equivalently to the LRG according to its structure, then set up LRG's lubricating-contact model in the vertical direction and obtained the vertical stiffness and dynamic response by simulation, through these the lubricating effect on the LRG's dynamic characteristics has been studied. Finally, a series of experiments have been designed and implemented to verify the lubricating-contact model, including the experimental principles and equipment, data acquisition and analysis and conclusions. This paper has tested the change of temperature during operation, vertical stiffness under various lubrication conditions and vibration intensity in different preload states, the results of the experiments and the previous work are mutual corroborated and the results has verified that the model and simulation are correct, also illustrated the importance of lubrication of LRG. This paper has proved that it has a positive meaning to research the LRG's dynamic characteristics by applying EHL theory to the LRG's contact problems.
