The SBS modified emulsified asphalt has many advantages of emulsified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt, and widely applied in the adhesive material of micro-surfacing and slurry seal mixture. But the SBS modified emulsified asphalt is difficult to produced, and the emulsifier mainly rely on import, so research and development of excellent performance of SBS modified asphalt emulsifier has important social and economic value.This paper from the perspective of molecular structure design of the emulsifier, long-chain aliphatic amines as the main raw material, two kinds of multi-hydrocarbyl substituted octadecyl propylene diamine cationic emulsifiers were synthesized. A kind of multi-hydrocarbyl substituted long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and multi-ethylene polyamine cationic emulsifier was synthesized by long-chain alkyl tertiary amine and diethylenetriamine. Then two kinds of composite emulsifiers were prepared by compositing the emulsifier which synthesized. The structure and performance of emulsifiers were characterized, and the overall performance of SBS modified asphalt emulsion was tested. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The(N-allyl-N'-hydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride-N'-(op-10 intermediate))-octadecyl propylene diamine cationic emulsifier(emulsifier I) was prepared by the raw materials of octadecyl propylene diamine, 3-chloropropene, trimethylamine, op-10 and epoxy chloropropane. The optimum technological conditions and formula is as follow: the reaction temperature is 90?, the reaction time is 9 hours, the p H of the reaction solution is 8~9, the molar ratio of octadecyl propylene diamine with 3-chloropropene, op-10 intermediate and 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride is 1:2.0:1.4:1.4. The SBS modified asphalt emulsion prepared by emulsifier I has the characteristics of slow-crack and fast-setting, and the overall performance of emulsion meet or exceed the index of JTG-F40-2004.2. The(N-hydroxyethyl-N-allyl-N'-benzyl-N'-hydroxypropyl trimethylammonium chloride)-octadecyl propylene diamine cationic emulsifier(emulsifier II) was prepared by the raw materials of octadecyl propylene diamine, 3-chloropropene, benzyl chloride, 2-chloroethanol, trimethylamine and epoxy chloropropane. The optimum technological conditions and formula is as follow: the reaction temperature is 80?, the reaction time is 8 hours, the p H of the reaction solution is 9, the molar ratio of octadecyl propylene diamine with 3-chloropropene, benzyl chloride, 2-chloroethanol and 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride is 1:1.5:1.4:1.2:1.4. The SBS modified asphalt emulsion prepared by emulsifier II has the characteristics of slow-crack and fast-setting, but the 5d stability of emulsion can't meet the index of JTG-F40-2004.3. The diethylene triamine-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-N,N-dimethyl tetradecyl quaternary ammonium intermediate was prepared by the raw materials of tetradecyl dimethylamine, epoxy chloropropane and diethylenetriamine. The optimum technological conditions and formula is as follow: the reaction temperature is 70?, the reaction time is 6 hours, the p H of the reaction solution is 10, the molar ratio of(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-N,N-dimethyl tetradecyl quaternary ammonium and diethylenetriamine is 1.3:1.The multi-hydrocarbyl substituted diethylenetriamine cationic emulsifier(emulsifier III) was prepared by the raw materials of diethylene triamine-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-N,N-dimethyl tetradecyl quaternary ammonium intermediate, 3-chloropropene, benzyl chloride, 2-chloroethanol, trimethylamine and epoxy chloropropane. The optimum technological conditions and formula is as follow: the reaction temperature is 80~85?, the reaction time is 7~8 hours, the p H of the reaction solution is 8~9, the molar ratio of diethylenetriamine-(3-chloro-2-hydroxyl propyl)-dimethyl tetradecyl quaternary ammonium and 3-chloropropene, benzyl chloride, 2-chloroethanol with 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride is 1:1.2:0.6:1.7:1.8. The emulsion prepared by emulsifier III has the characteristics of middle-crack, and with good storage stability.4. The emulsifier II and emulsifier III as main emulsifier, op-10 as auxiliary emulsifier, calcium chloride as stabilizer, the composite emulsifier was prepared. The optimal formula of composite emulsifier A: the content of emulsifier II is 38%, the content of op-10 is 12%, and the content of calcium chloride is 14%. The optimal formula of composite emulsifier B: the content of emulsifier III is 36%, the content of op-10 is 14%, and the content of calcium chloride is 16%. The overall performance of SBS modified asphalt emulsion prepared by composite emulsifier A or B have met or exceed the index of JTG-F40-2004.
