With the increase of school-age children,the market sales of school-age children are increasing and the demand for school-age-children-centered functional products is also increasing.Functional backpack occupies an important position in children's products and gains increasingly high concern.In the future of children's products development,the field of functional backpack also have immeasurable potential and become a research hot spot on children's product design.Children's health will benefit from the function of the backpack.Through the research of domestic and international children functional backpack design,four major problems are found:1)The school-age-children-centered functional backpack study on the physiological and psychological needs is in lack of.2)The design principles of school-age-children-centered functional backpack are not perfect.3)Solutions from design view to solve the backpack problems are in lack of.4)The human body reference data for children's backpack design is short of.By solving these problems,this paper has obtained the following research results:1)Determine the school-age-children-centered function backpack demands: functional backpack is appropriate with physiological characteristics of school-aged-children,is coincide with school-age-children's psychological needs,at the same time meet the lifestyle of the school-age children.2)The design principles of school-age-children-centered functional backpack are put forward,including comfort,decompression,practicality,durability,safety and beauty.3)Functional backpack based on ergonomics is designed: under the guidance of the user-centered design method,the backpack is designed according to the design positioning,product design and development,product testing.4)Delineation of data range in which the backpack contacts with the body parts: using the prototype segmentation method which is based on ergonomics to define the strap size range and the backpack back curve bending degree range.Through the practice of the design verification,the user-centered design method effectively guides the design of functional backpack.Application for user-centered design approach and ergonomic combination,better solves the problems mentioned above.Moreover,the topic in the backpack design using the prototype segmentation method for human body data analysisis innovative,providing a reference model for other design research based on the human body.
