Wool and nylon blend fabrics can show some advantages of wool and nylon fiber respectively,such as good performance and unique style.The fabrics dyed usually with acid dyestuffs in a weak acidic medium.But color inconsistency problems would be very easily produced between two kinds of fibers in blended fabrics,and usually the nylon fiber shade is deeper than the wool.It would affect the appearance and quality of blend fabrics,therefore,some appropriate measures must be taken into conventional dyeing processes,which commonly methods are adding resist-dyeing agents of nylon,or screening the appropriate dyes to decrease the color difference between wool and nylon fibers.Using these methods however,exhaustions of dyes may be decreased,or the kinds of available dyes would be limited.According to the different construction of nylon and wool,reducing the pH of dyeing bath can enhance the amount of positive electrostatic charge to wool.It will improve the Coulombian force between the wool and dye stuffs,thus deepen the shade of wool and decrease the color difference between two fibers.This method should be suitbale for most of acid dyes.Even more,the organic agents may be used less and it's benefit for environment.In this paper,the standard adjacent fabrics of wool and nylon were used to emulate the blend fabrics,and the difference of shade depth ?K/S between wool and nylon fabrics after dyeing was taken to examine their color consistency.The effects of the dye stuffs,pH vaule of dyeing bath,the sequence of adding the acid were researched in different dyeing processes.When dyeing with Telon A2 R dyestuffs,the ?K/S value between wool and nylon would decrease obviously with increasing acidic before dyeing.The results showed that ?K/S could be decreased to 2 or lower when the pH was lower than 2,which exhibited better color consistency.Through fabrics testing,the color fastness and the strength of fabric were not significantly affected.When the pH of dyeing bath was relatively low,the dyeing rate would be accelerated dramatically,which would produce unlevelness.In order to solve this problem,the non-linear temperature dyeing process was used to control the rate of dyeing quantitatively in this paper.The effects to color consistency of wool and nylon were analyzed,as well.The result showed that,dyeing with these processes,the rate of dyeing could achieve at the assumed goal,which was from 0.8 to 1.5%/min.The leveling properties of wool and nylon fabrics were also explored in the non-linear temperature dyeing process,through the unidirectional loop dyeing apparatus.In this paper,the effects of blending proportion were researched to color consistency.Ultimately,the result showed that the non-linear temperature dyeing process had a promoting effect to levelness and can be used to most different kinds of blending proportion.When dyeing with three kinds of dyestuffs,according to control the rate of dyeing,different calculate methods were used to forecast the rate of dyeing respectively under discretionary process.Through kinds of dyeing data in different temperature rising rates,the result showed that the available experiment conditions were unable to meet the requirements,could not obtain a large mount of data in different temperatures,thus only can forecast the dye-uptake initially.When dyeing with mixed dyestuffs which proportion is 1:1:1,the non-linear temperature dyeing process which was calculated from their temperature dyeing process respectively,can control the dyeing rate quantitatively,with a leveling color consistency.This would be basic studies for the development of the controlling technique in dyeing blended fabrics.
