With the development of international economy and the soft-power promoting of Chinese culture, the influence of Chinese traditional costume culture on modern fashion design and brand building is becoming more and more obvious.As an important feature of the traditional Chinese garment, the plane structure has deep traditional means. As the elements and inspiration in fashion design, it has positive significance to the inheritance and innovation of traditional culture. On the other hand, the knitting garments are mainly characterized by plane structure, currently. Based on the similarity of plane structure, this paper discuss the ways of knitwear design with Chinese traditional style, combined the plane structure of traditional woven clothes cutting and the structure of knitwear.First, this paper has a comprehensive definition in the plane structure, and analysis of the historical cultural significance, as an important feature of traditional clothing. Then, it emphasize the return and popularity of Chinese traditional clothing culture, by the example cases of the traditional plane structure designed in modern fashion. Finally, it explores the possibility of the innovation of knitting technology in traditional costume design, provided theoretical support and guided ways for the final design program, by the analysis in the modeling ways and the characteristics of knitted fabric and the example cases of Chinese traditional plane structure designed in knitwear design. This paper tries to have sufficient theory support and reasonable case reference, full of innovative significance. The design program tries to have a clear scheme and a good aesthetic, the structure of garment tries to be rigorous.
