The Study On Traditional Furniture Art Culture And Inheritance Of Yi Ethnic In Liangshan

The Liang Shan Autonomous Prefecture is situated at the southern of Sichuan province. Nearly half of the population of Liang Shan is occupy by the ethnic Yi, which is also one of the six largest ethnic groups of China with a long history and splendid culture. The Yi long cultural history has been a major change in all the other ethnics cultural from all kinds of aspects and eventually still merging to an endless inspiration for everyone across the nation. The Yi ethnic of Liang Shan furniture has always been related with their daily activities, an influenced from its traditional culture, the furniture evolved into a combination of a variety of the culture who been through it.This thesis aim to provide a theoretical basis for the inheritance and development of Liang Shan Yi furniture. In this study applies the literature study, field investigation method and ethnology, folklore, anthropology as the analysis of Liang Shan Yi furniture culture and arts. To give a clear view of the actual different types of furniture constitutive of Liang Shan Autonomous Prefecture, a data base system been included to demonstrate the extensive utilization of the Yi art and culture in the different fields covered by a listing of details and images. The comprehensive analysis summary of the furniture of this thesis consists of seven chapters. The first chapter is the different researches as the ethnology background, status, content gathering and methods. The second chapter analyses the development course of most common used summarized Liang Shan Yi furniture. The thirst chapter analyses the different types artistic and cultural Liang Shan Yi furniture as material, technologic and structural. The fourth chapter focuses on the analyzes of artistic and cultural aspect of Liang Shan Yi furniture in the fireworks, architectural and lacquer ware culture. From the second to the fourth chapter is giving a comprehensive analysis of the inheritance and development of Liang Shan Yi furniture problematic and behaviors. The sixth chapter is the showcase of the traditional Yi furniture compare to the modern designs. In conclusion, summarizing the conclusions and limitations that apply to the different aspect that been introduced in this thesis. Though the comprehensive research and analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:(1) Liang Shan Yi furniture formation is the result of combined action of natural factors and social factors, Liang Shan Yi furniture type, material, technology, structure, unique geographical and ethnic characteristics, forming a smaller, easy to carry, and architecture combine Alpine furniture.(2) Liang Shan Yi furniture complex of art and culture of Liang Shan, A collection of fire culture, lacquer culture, and architectural culture, Liang Shan Yi furniture and Liang Shan Yi culture of mutual influence, mutual penetration, and the furniture style, color and decorative patterns show out.(3) By analyzing the changes of Liang Shan Yi furniture in recent years, the change trend and the problems existing in the development process, put forward the way of inheritance and development of Liang Shan Yi furniture.(4) By analyzing the application of traditional elements in modern design of Liang Shan Yi, the application of traditional elements in furniture design in Liang Shan is summarized, and the practical design case analysis is demonstrated.
