Saral Sarkar is a representative scholar of western Eco-Marxism, his theory of ‘radical EcoSocialism' attracts broad attention. In his theory, Sarkar criticizes the socialism of Soviet model,the capitalism, the Eco-Capitalism and so on, and he also puts forwards some concepts like stable economy, local governance, New-man in socialism and Non-violent democracy struggle. Sarkar's theory greatly enrich the western Eco-Marxism, inject new vitality to Marxism, and provide beneficial reference to the development of the socialist theoretical system with Chinese characteristics, especially the ecological civilization construction.The article will follow this research strategy. In the total background of western Eco-Marxism, and based on the deep research of Sarkar's theory, to analyze the main points and logical of the theory, and then to assess the advantages and disadvantages from the view of Marxism, and finally to rethink the strategies and measures of ecological civilization construction of China.This article will have six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter summarizes the main points of western Eco-Marxism, like the values rethinking of Marxism and the theory explore or Eco-Socialism. The third chapter focused on the criticism to the socialism of Soviet model. Sarkar points out that the ecological and morality crisis should liability for the failure of Soviet. This standpoint should be seriously concerned. The fourth chapter discusses the capitalism, the Eco-Capitalism and so on, Sarkar said that they have the inherent defect, so they cannot deal with the ecological crisis at last. We also discuss the relationship between ecological crisis and economy crisis. The fifth chapter analysis the four contradictions of Sarkar's EcoSocialism: the contradiction of stable economy and market system; the contradiction of local manage and global crisis; the contradiction of general principal and pluralistic value; and the contradiction of non-violence democracy and concentration power. Based on the theory of Marxism, Sarkar's Eco-Socialism and the social reality, the last chapter inspects the strategies and measures of ecological civilization construction, and some opinions and suggestions will be there at last.
