With the rapid development of economy,the demand for energy is on the increase day by day.The oil resources play an important role in human life.But in the process of oil mining and transportation,refining,storage and use,the oil spill accidents are inevitable,especially in the maritime transportation.Leakage accident is prone to happen.There is no doubt that oil spill will not only cause the waste of resources,Marine ecological environment pollution,but also endanger human health through food chain enrichment.In this paper,the ramie fiber was modified as the natural absorbent of oil spill accident.The ramie was obtained from Hemp Science Institute in Hunan Province.The oil sorption capacity was affected by modification temperature,modification time.The optimal conditions were determined according to the oil absorption capacity.The oil retention capacity and repeated use of crude and modified ramie fiber were investigated.The surface morphology of the crude and modified ramie fiber were observed by field emission scanning electron microscope(SEM),the variation of Infrared functional groups of modified ramie fiber were analyzed by using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer(Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer,FTIR Spectrometer),the morphology of crude and modified ramie fiber were analyzed by X-ray diffraction(X-Ray Diffractomer,XRD),the quality of crude and modified ramie fiber were studied as the change of temperature by TGA,respectively.Results showed that modification temperature,modification time,the ratio of ramie fiber and the acetic acid could affect the oil absorption capacity of modified ramie fiber.The orthogonal experiment was researched to explore the optimal modification conditions.The condition were that the modification temperature was125 ℃,the modification time was5.5 h,solid-liquid ratio was 1:50,respectively.The absorption for crude oil was 6.7327 g/g.The absorption of modified ramie fiber for crude oil was 19.8761 g/g.It can be concluded form the SEM that surface of modified ramie fiber was more rough than the unmodified ramie fiber,and the number of irregular space also increase.Through the characterization of FTIR chart,it can be concluded that the peak of hydroxyl,methylene,methyl and carbonyl vibration weakened,thus to reduce the hydrophilic group.XRD results show that the modified ramie fiber crystallinity reduced,non-crystalline area ratio increased.It is good for the oil absorption and storage.The oil retention capacity of modified ramie was increase compared to unmodified ramie fiber.With recycle times increasing the oil absorption capacity of crude and modified ramie fiber gradually reduced and tends to be stable.The oil absorption capacity of modified ramie fiber decrease slowly than that of unmodified ramie fiber,so the repetitiveness of modified ramie fiber is better.
