The incidence of production safety accidents and the severity of accidents consequences in chemical industry are substantially high in the industry rankings, this phenomenon is main caused by chemical industry workers’ poor job security awareness and unskilled operation.The safety training methods in our country are lack of immersion and interactivity. Therefore,operators could only passively accept, they couldn’t understand operational procedures and grasp the main points of the post operation, even more they couldn’t understand the consequences of incorrect operation and emergency measures after the accident, thereby these situations result in workers’ operational errors that lead to safety accidents. In order to make up the insufficient of traditional safety training and improve safety training effect, the dissertation studied the chemical safety training system based on virtual interaction, this system can make the operator achieve efficient training effect by functional simulation environment and interaction, so that the operator can be familiar with the process, grasps the danger that may occur and improve the workers’ ability of promptly responding to incidents in the shortest possible time.According to the analysis of the polystyrene production process in the chemical plant,the part which includes complex process, complex operations and accidents that were prone was found. The operation training of this part was finished in view of the chemical safety training system based on virtual interaction. The design of the system was finished after an in-depth investigation. Considered the system function and the sense of immersion about training system, the Unity3 d engine combined with the Kinect was proposed to achieve the chemical safety training system. In order to increase the authenticity of the scene and the immersion, the scene in the system was created based on the actual environment and chemical equipment. Imported the three-dimensional model into the project scene created by Unity3 d,this system used Unity3 d software physics engine, collision detection technique and sound build a realistic scene of chemical operations. After the scene completed, character models would be placed into the scene and added collision, the system used the Kinect to achieve thecontrol of the character model in the scene and transfer motion information to the character in the scene by Kinect, so that,this system realized the roaming and post operational functions.In Unity3 d project scene, the scripting realized the collision detection between operators and chemical equipment, made the operators can interact with the models in the scene and completed the system of chemical safety training based on virtual interaction. This system will give a warning message when post workers do not follow the correct process and the reaction conditions are not met, or chemical equipment failure. The warning have a very important role in helping workers familiar with the process and improving their safety awareness.
