This paper analyzed the research status and development trend of cycloid gear hob design, AutoCAD external database as well as the finite element analysis with the technology of CAD design in China and abroad, of are analyzed. Formulated the technical route of cycloidal gear hob with parameters visual design system.Analyzed the the forming principle of cycloidal gear tooth profile curve, get the curve equation of cycloid gear tooth profile. Use the principle of hob cutting and the law of gear engagement o find the solution to the tooth profile curve of cycloid gear hob. Refer to the GB standard of gear hob to establish the mathematical modeling of cycloid gear hob, establish the parametric modeling of cycloid gear hob with the base of related parameters of cycloid gear.Use VBA as the secondary development tool for AutoCAD, designed the parameters visual design system of cycloidal gear hob, including interface and VBA program. At the same time, in order to use of design data the effectively, established external database to connected the system.Finally, use is system establish three-dimensional entity model of cycloid gear hob, imported the model into ANSYS, made the finite element analysis of stress, strain, temperature, and the modal, obtained the stress, strain and temperature and modal distribution nephogram of the cycloid gear hob. From nephogram of the cycloid gear hob to get the easy breakage and wear parts of cycloid gear hob, as a reference for the feedback of cycloid gear hob parameterized design.
