Coal is the major energy in our country. With the development of society, the demand for coal in human society is increasing. At the same time, due to the continuous reduction of coal resources, mining face environment increasingly harsh, to ensure the efficiency and safety of coal mining work, performance indicators of Shearer also have higher requirements. The spur gear system of shearer rocker arm is a key component of a coal mining machine. Its reliability and quality determines the efficiency of coal mining. The design and manufacture of shearer in our country is still in traditional design stage. It cannot guarantee that shearer can reliably finish the coal-mining work. This paper summarized the domestic research on the theory and method of the spur gear system of shearer rocker arm, and built the geometry model of spur gear system of a type of drum shearer rocker arm by using parametric modeling technology and analyzed it with finite element analysis software. The main contents of this paper include:(1) Build the geometry model of high-speed gear and bearing in spur gear system of shearer rocker arm by using parametric modern design method. Rapidly and completely simulated two kinds of spur gear pair model and aligning spherical roller bearings with assembly errors.(2) The contact element method is used in the established ideal gear model to analyze the contact stress. Force distribution of its stress concentration area was observed to remain consistent with the actual situation of the high-speed zone gear. At the same time the size of the contact stress was verified with the contrast with the classical Hertz theory. Under the premise of ensuring the correctness of model, the finite element method is used in the model of assembly errors to make contact analysis and observed its mechanical characteristics.(3) In order to simulate high-speed gear pair and bearing in actual working conditions, to learn the natural frequency and mode shape of gear pair and stress, strain, velocity, acceleration and load distribution conditions in working progress, to learn the load distribution conditions of aligning spherical roller bearings, dynamics analysis was carried out.With the parametric modeling and finite element analysis of high-speed gear system, the design entity could be got rapidly and finite element model of the actual working conditions could be built. It provided a more efficient, more scientific reliable design methods and design basis to the design of shearer gear system with the contrast with traditional design method.
