Management Case Studies On Long-distance Pipeline Engineering Design Quality Control

Our petrochemical industry is entering an important strategic development period and a new round of construction peak. Petrochemical enterprises focus not only on the economic benefit, but also on the social benefit. Due to several large accidents happened in the last few years, such as Sinopec east yellow oil pipeline leak explosion, Dalian oil pipeline explosion and the other accidents, which have seriously damaged the image of our country and enterprise. The state department and China petroleum request its affiliated companies to handle the hazards so as to decrease the risk of long-distance pipeline. Among these risks, some risks are caused by construction. Some are greatly concerned with design quality. So, it is necessary to monitor design quality during the whole project. Only in this way, can it ensure an effective quality control? The design quality is the key factor which determined the quality of a project. Therefore, how to strengthen quality control management has an important implication on the project design process.This paper aims at the management of long-distance pipeline quality control. By means of statistic and causal analysis, combined with quality control and management theory, based on the site investigation, it proposes a set of design quality management system for DB company. It will improve the company's design quality management level and indirectly improve its economic benefit.Through applications of quality control management theory, service engineering and management theory and project management theory in this study, combined with the problems occurred during long-distance pipeline design and construction, this paper analyzes the existing problems of design quality management and explores scientific ways to solve the problems in design quality management system of DB company. By optimizing quality standards of designing process, it will improve the management level and reduce economic losses due to project design problems, and thus indirectly enhances the enterprise's economic benefit and customer's satisfaction.
