Discharging barrel has been widely used in chemical production as a common chemical process equipment. And discharging barrel is much easy to lead to fatigue damage because of its discontinuous feeding process. A discharging barrel (R401) after using this for one whole year, we found cylinder across the corner of bottom on support pan had been totally cracked at the time of penetrant inspection Therefore, it has a very important practical significance to take depth stress analysis and security assessment into ear test bearing and adjoining support pad in order to optimum structure and size?In this paper, whether hanging support conform to the basic requirement of the strength or not is firstly studied according to the theoretical calculation method. Meanwhile, we also make related stress analysis into 8-rectangular plate,4-rounded plate?8-rounded plate.At last, we take 4-rounded plate as an example to study the effects of the size changes within the range±10% of bearing plate?backing and ribs on the stress of ear type bearings. After this, the sensible size will be decreased by 5% in the positive direction and increased by 5% in the negative direction. Combined with the concrete curve of stress versus size, we found the optimal size parameter so as to optimum the originate hanging support and make the finite element simulation.With all the analysis above, we had a deeper understanding of the stress distributions of originate hanging support and improved hanging support which makes a really practical guiding significance in choosing hanging support. And we also provide a reference for choosing the size for hanging support through the study of size parameter.
