As the high precision supporting material of modern aerospace and defense industry products, ultra-precision machining precision demand of metal titanium is becoming higher,which machining accuracy has reached nanometer level, and high manufacturing requirements of actual experimental are put forward. Meanwhile, nano machining mechanism and micro material structure, micro wear, size effect and so on in nanometric cutting are big different with conventional cutting. Molecular dynamics simulation(MDS) can solve the above problems, which can study macro characteristics of material from the microscopic field,and it is a feasible method to study the micro and nano machining mechanism from microscopic point of molecule and atom.By use molecular dynamics(MD) basic theory and methods, combined with vibration assisted machining(VAM) technology, this article determined nanometer vibration cutting MDS method suitable for metal titanium, and studied its nanometer vibration cutting process from microscopic view of molecule and atom.Firstly, the research status and basic theory of MD and vibration cutting technology are introduced. MDS model of titanium nanometer vibration cutting is established by using the MD basic theory and the corresponding simulation program is developed.Secondly, reasonable simulation conditions are determined, and the relaxation analysis is carried out to get potential energy curve.Thirdly, MDS simulation of metal titanium nano vibration cutting process is carried out.The instantaneous atomic position image, cutting force and cutting temperature are obtained in ordinary cutting, vibration cutting and EVC cutting mode, which simulation results are analyzed and compared.In the end, nano cutting process under different vibration(cutting) parameters is studied,and their influence to the cutting force and temperature of metal titanium nano vibration cutting process is analyzed.
