With the rapid development of aerospace,medical devices and electronic communications,the processing precision of various high precision parts,high precision surfaces and micro components is also increasing,and part of the accuracy requirements have reached nanoscale.However,there are essential differences between the processing mechanism and law of the nanoscale and the processing under the conventional conditions,therefore,it is clearly not appropriate to study the nanoscale cutting mechanism and law by using macro cutting theory.In this paper,the molecular dynamics simulation(MDS)model of aluminum is established by using the theory and method of molecular dynamics(MD).Then,the nano cutting simulation was carried out,and the nano cutting process was studied from the microscopic point of view.First of all,this paper introduces the development and current research status of nano cutting MDS in detail,after carefully studying the basic theory and method of MD,the method of nano cutting MDS which is suitable for aluminum and the related cutting simulation parameters and simulation conditions are determined,and the MDS model of nano cutting was established,then the corresponding simulation program was developed.Secondly,the model relaxation process of aluminum nano cutting MDS is studied,the potential energy change curve of the system is obtained and the relaxation time is determined.The nano cutting simulation was carried out,and the instantaneous atomic image,cutting force,cutting temperature and so on are obtained.Then,the material removal,the forming of the machined surface,the change law of cutting force,cutting temperature and the potential energy of the system in the cutting process are studied in detail.Thirdly,the influence of different simulation parameters changes on the aluminum nano cutting process is studied under the same simulation conditions.At last,the effect of cutting tool wear under different position conditions on the aluminum nano cutting process is studied under the same simulation conditions,this includes the change law of the cutting force,cutting tool temperature and the workpiece temperature in the cutting process.
