High strength steel hot forming process plays an important role in improving vehicle safety performance, reducing body weight and so on.The level of mould design directly determines the application scope of hot stamping process. In recent years, thanks to the rapid development of computer technology, computer-aided design(Computer Aided Design) has gradually replaced traditional design methods into the mainstream. After the application of computer-aided design, the design efficiency greatly improved. The current mainstream CAD software also provides a wealth of secondary development interface. In this paper, based on UG NX software development interface, a structural design system is developed in order to improve the efficiency of mould design.In the first place, this paper introduces the principle of hot stamping, the process and some common types of high-strength steel. Learn the basics helps to understand the subsequent mold design process.Hot stamping mold structrue is very different compared to other cold stamping mold structure. Listed in this article are two common types- plate structure and cast structure. Analysis of the application scope of these two types of mold structure. In addition, the paper describes the carrier element and ejector type, structure, and considerations when designing.This paper mainly uses the parametric design and secondary development of UG. In mold design process, system calls mold assembly using parametric constraints. Parameters derived from parts and user input.It achieves a simple design formwork. Parting, and subblock design reduces the amount of staff time.
