Both too much and too little water can do harm to the growth of plants.Water affect the growth and development of plants which decided that water stress was an important factor to agricultural production.So improving the resistance was significant to agriculture.As a major necessary element for plant growth and a second messenger of coupling extra-cellular signal and intracellular physiological reactions,Ca could relieve the harm of stress to the crops by regulating gene expression and inducing change of physiological and biochemical metabolism under environmental stress.ABA was plant hormone which played an important role in resistance.Therefore,it has the important theory value and the practice significance to research the effect of calcium and ABA on growth and physiological metabolism of Stachys sieboldii Miq.under water stress.Guizai NO.1,Luyin No.1 and Ganyin No.1 were used as materials,through soaking seeds with Ca and water,researching the effect of drought stress on morphology and physiology of three kinds of Stachys sieboldii Miq.and the influence of Ca to drought resistance.Through soaking seeds with Ca and water and spurting the leaf with Ca and ABA,the effect of water logging stress on morphology and physiology of Stachys sieboldii Miq.and the influence of exogenous calcium and ABA to flooding resistance were researched.The degree of harm on morphology changed as time prolonged.The stress resistance has a negative correlation with the degree of harm.The degree of harm on morphology of Guizai NO.1,Luyin No.1 and Ganyin No.1 were 3,4 and 5 at the final stage of drought.So the drought resistance was Guizai NO.1>Luyin No.1>Ganyin No.1.The degree of harm on morphology of Guizai NO.1,Luyin No.1 and Ganyin No.1 were 5,5 and 4 at the final stage of water logging.Ganyin No.1 had the best flood resistance.The content of soluble sugar,Pro,MDA and SOD,POD and CAT activities kept rising at all times under drought stress.The content of soluble sugar,Pro and MDA of Guizai NO.1 had the least increasing amplitude.The activity of SOD,POD and CAT of Guizai NO.1 had the biggest increasing amplitude.The content of soluble protein of Luyin No.1 and Ganyin No.1 were rose in the first stage,and then decreased under drought stress.While the content of soluble protein of Guizai NO.1 kept rising at all times.The content of soluble sugar,soluble protein,and activity of POD and CAT rose in the first stage,and then decreased under flooding of Stachys sieboldii Miq..The activity of SOD rose in the first stage,and then decreased of Guizai NO.1 and Luyin No.1.While the activity of SOD of Ganyin No.1 kept rising at all times under flooding.The content of MDA of Stachys sieboldii Miq.kept rising at all times under flooding.The content of MDA of Ganyin No.1 had the least increasing amplitude.Exogenous calcium and ABA affected the resistance of Stachys sieboldii Miq..The degree of harm on morphology of Stachys sieboldii Miq.Which was soaked seeds with calcium were 2,2,and 4 which were smaller than Stachys sieboldii Miq.which was soaked seeds with water.So the treatment with calcium had the better resistance than that treat with water under drought.The content of soluble sugar,Pro,MDA,and the activity of SOD,POD and CAT of treatment with calcium kept rising at all times.The content of soluble protein of the treatment with calcium of Luyin No.1 and Ganyin No.1 rose in the first stage,and then decreased,while Guizai NO.1 kept rising at all times under drought.The activity of SOD,POD and CAT of the treatment with calcium had a bigger increasing amplitude than than without calcium,the other physiological indexes had a smaller increasing amplitude.The degree of harm on morphology of Stachys sieboldii Miq.which was treated with calcium and ABA were smaller than the treatment of water..The degree of harm on morphology of Guizai calcium spurting,Luyin ABA spurting and Ganyin calcium soaking was 4,4 and 3.So the treatment of exogenous growth had better flood resistance.The treatment of exogenous material had smaller MDA content than the treatment of water.The treatment of exogenous material had bigger value of other physiological indexes such as soluble sugar,soluble protein,Pro,SOD,POD and CAT under flood stress.The stress of drought and flooding can affect the yield of Stachys sieboldii Miq..The yield of Guizai NO.1,Ganyin No.1 and Luyin No.1 which treated with water decreased 15.51%,52.59% and 26.25% to the control group under drought.The yield of Luyin No.1,Ganyin No.1 and Guizai NO.1 which treated with calcium increased 33.84%,56.89% and 7.24%,to the control group under drought.The yield of treatment of calcium were higher than treatment of water under drought.The yield of Guizai NO.1,Luyin No.1 and Ganyin No.1 which treated with water decreased 93.73%,73.55% and 67.29% to the control under flooding.The yield of Guizai calcium soaking,Guizai calcium spurting and Guizai ABA spurting increased 68.57%,160.00% and 284.29% to the control under flooding.The yield of Ganyin calcium soaking,Ganyin calcium spurting and Ganyin ABA spurting increased 43.52%,13.73% and 144.82% to the control under flooding.The yield of Luyin calcium soaking,Luyin calcium spurting and Luyin ABA spurting increased 20.43%,51.25% and 96.06% to the control under flooding.The yield of treatment of exogenous growth higher than which treated with water.
