In this study, the endophytic bacteria from P. oteracea were isolated and identified, and the drought-responsive physiological index were analyzed primarily. The resuls are as following:1. The isolated endophytic bacteria from the wild P. oteracea were identified first by gram’s staining combined with microscopic observation. Then the 16 S r DNA sequences were blasted and aligned. The results showed that totally 6 trains were isolated,, and they belong to E.sakazakil, Bacillus pumilus, Achromobacter spp.,Paenibacillus, Leifsonia and Rhodanobacter sp. respectively.2. Measurement of the physiological indexes of P. oteracea leaves under drought treatment and after rewatering showed that SOD activity, free proline and MDA contents had a more dramatic increase compared with that in the control group and then dropped gradually. But the changes vary among the three indexes measured. These results could gain further insight into the elucidation of the mechanism of drought tolerance of purslane, and benefit the selection of drought-resistant purslane.
