Feasibility Study Of Changxing GSSP-protected Area Of Zhejiang Prepare To Build A National Geopark

Geopark is aiming at geoheritage protection,science popularization and social and economic sustainable development,which is an emerging model for geological heritage protection and development in 21st century.Changxing National Geoheritage Reserve is located in Changing county,Zhejiang province,characterized by the two GSSPs(Upper Permian Changxing Stage and Permian-Triassic Boundary),the local government is preparing for the geopark application.Based on the field investigation and data collection,this paper classifies the geoheritage resource,s in the study area into 7 types in 4 categories,the most important geosite is the GSSP-bearing D section.According to its geoheritage characteristics,this paper intruduce the significant scientific value and unique science popularization value of the geoheritage resources,analyzes the advantage and disadvantage to build a geopark,and dicusses the possible methods and ways for utilizing non-landscape geoheritage to build a geopark.According to the related geopark requirements and its geoheritage characteristics,this paper proposes the following suggestions:(1)To scientifically clearify its position and formulate its master plan;(2)To improve the management structure,understand the geopark aims;(3)To highlight its uniqueness in various way;(4)To improve infrastructure.Finally,this paper analyzes the social,ecological and economic benefits after establishing a geopark.
