Exploration On Schr?dinger’s Theory Of Consciousness

The paper is aimed to explore Schr?dinger’s theory of consciousness,the main study is based on What is life, Enlightenment library of Science masters and other books ,in which Schr?dinger talked about the issues of consciousness , as well as the Erwin Schr?dinger’s World View, which focus on foreign scholars’ opinion of Schr?dinger’s theory of consciousness .The main methods used in this paper is text-interpretation and analytic reflection. My goal is to develop a coherent picture of Schr?dinger’s understanding of the consciousness through the comprehensive study of Schr?dinger’s text concerning the issue of consciousness.Consciousness is the hot topic in the field of science and philosophy, the study of consciousness has a long history, from the Descartes to Locke, Leibnitz and Kant, they all have studied on consciousness, until later the contemporary phenomenology of Husserl, Heidegger and others, almost every philosopher attach importance to the study of consciousness.The issues of consciousness has not been solved through science, and people can’t give a complete scientific explanation of consciousness,but we really has the experience of consciousness. To study the problem of consciousness, we still have a long way to go, whether it’s ontology, epistemology, or the nature of consciousness, or psychology, geography geomorphology of conciousness, the dynamic problems of consciousness, we all need to pursue and explore for a clear and better understanding of conciousness. In this regard, this paper reconstruct Schr?dinger’s thinking about consciousness to enrich the perspective we study on consciousness, so as to promote our deeper understanding and comprehension of consciousness.This paper is constituted of introduction and five chapter as well as the conclusion.In the introduction part, the paper analysis on the problem of three aspects: first,briefly introduce the great quantum physicists Schr?dinger’s life, so that we can have a general grasp of his scientific achievements and thoughts. Second, I integrate the present situation of domestic and abroad studys of Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory research, and then point out the creative ideas of this paper. Finally, I illustrate the special pespective of this paper.In the first chapter, the paper clarify the origin of Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory. The first section discusses the argument between matter and consciousness, points out the awkward between matter and consciousness. The second section illustrates the’exclusion principle’ dilemma, points out the problem when science solve the dilemma.The third section examines the count paradox problem of consciousness. The fourth section is Schr?dinger’s metaphysical thinking, this is also the basis of the research of consciousness later. The fifth section is the reflection in natural philosophy, and it show how Schr?dinger turn from physics to the study of conciousness.In the second chapter, the paper discusses the main characteristics of Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory, it is these features which distinguish his consciousness theory from others’, so I devide it as a separate chapter. The main features include: (1)The ancient philosophy complex;(2)Eastern mysticism tendency; (3)The new scientic label.In the third chapter,it is the main content of Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory,namely the identical consciousness theory. It starts from the ontological question "do I exist", and then regards "I" as the starting point, analyses identify between "I" and others,between consciousness and the outer world, between consciousness and body, and then demonstrates the rationality of these views.In the fourth chapter, the paper extents Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory, attempts to further study the material basis behind consciousness, and the relationship between development of consciousness and moral law, and the relationship between self and gene,for a deepening understanding of Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory.In the fifth chapter, the paper analyzes the the contemporary significance of Schr?dinger’s consciousness theory. There are three aspects: (1)The impact on biology and philosophy; (2)The influence on the development of the scientific world view;(3)The inspiration on human’s own development.In the conclusion part, I review and summarize the main point of the chapters,pointed out the innovation of this paper. Finally, I reflect inadequacies of the paper and provide a self-comment.
