| DIY is a concept originated in the western countries in the in the 1960s,which is the abbreviation for Do It Yourself. In the age of underdeveloped productivity, the phrase"Do-it-yourself can make you in abundance" is fully embodied in the necessity and universality of manual labor. However, with the development of science and technology,with the abundant material, mechanical equipment and artificial services are highly developed. In this situation, there is no need to chose the way of" Do-it-yourself", but they actively chose their own way, and participate in DIY practice activities. A variety of DIY studio emerged, and DIY concept is widely popular in the society, so this unique DIY culture is also formed. This paper tries to explore and rethink DIY culture in the perspective of philosophy, which mainly includes the following three parts:The first part is about the concept of DIY culture and its historical development.Firstly, it analyzes the concept of DIY, introduces DIY activities and related industries.Secondly, it points out that DIY culture includes not only the dominant material production and consumption, but also the recessive spiritual culture of do-it-yourself,self-experiences and self-shaping. Then, it briefly introduces the historical development of DIY culture.The second part is the analysis of the background and significance of DIY culture.The development of modern technology has advantages and disadvantages. Commodity economy and consumerism erode the leisure life outside of human living activities. The pluralistic and personalized thoughts of postmodernism are produced. Our country has a profound traditional handicraft culture. These factors make DIY culture widely popular.At the same time DIY culture also has important significance to the individual and society. It can reconstruct the perception of the existence of individual ontology, promote the development of human cognition, establish the life morality and individuation aesthetic. It also has a positive impact on the economy, politics and ecology of the whole society.The third part tries to explore the actuality and predicament of DIY culture, and put forward some superficial suggestions. On the basis of analyzing the development actuality of DIY culture at home and abroad, this paper introduces the characteristics of the development of DIY culture in our country, points out the predicament of the development of Fools, Vulgarization and Individuation, proposes rational choice of technology, love and creativity work, and perfect social support system to further promote the development of DIY culture. |
