Panxi area,as one of the most important metallogenic belts of vanadium-titanium magnetite in China,provides nearly 15% contribution to the national iron ore reserves.Hongge vanadium-titanium magnetite is the largest mining area in the Panxi,has the largest type of ore and the most complex mineralization elements of the mining area,in addition to our rich development and utilization of iron,titanium,vanadium and other elements,but also has not yet developed the use of rare earth scandium,gallium,niobium,germanium and platinum group elements osmium,iridium,ruthenium,rhodium,platinum,palladium and so on.It is pointed out that the distribution rule of scandium in Hongge mining area and the distribution law of scandium in beneficiation tailings are the key points of making full use of scandium resources.Through the investigation and research,the paper has made the following conclusions:1.The main types of Hongge mine rock type are gabbro,pyroxenite and olive pyroxenite and so on.The average content of scandium in olivine pyroxenite is 28.71?g/g,The average content of scandium in pyroxenite is 21.1?g/g,and the average content of scandium in gabbro is 15.92?g/g.Scandium is mainly enriched in pyroxenite.2.From the bottom of the peridotite mineral layer –and to the central pyroxenite ore –and last to the upper gabbro ore,ore scandium content is gradually reduced.The scandium content in the ore ranges from 10.4 to 58.7 ?g/g,and the highest value appears in the low-grade iron ore in the bottom of the epicothels.The lowest value appears in the gabbro and pyroxenite-bearing high-grade iron ore in.Iron grade is low when the scandium is conducive to enrichment.The distribution of scandium in the pyroxenite facies(??)is 12.8-35.4?g/g,the average content is 26.4?g/g.The range of scandium in pyroxenite facies(?)is 5.9-24.3?g/g and the average content is 16.8?g/g.The range of scandium in gabbro facies(?)is 8.2-23.7?g/g,with an average content of 13.2 ?g/g.The content of scandium in each facies zone increases with the basic degree of rock.4.Scandium and cobalt,gallium is negatively correlated with chromium and nickel irregular.The scandium in the ore is negatively correlated with iron,titanium and vanadium.In magnetite scandium and iron,vanadium,chromium,cobalt,gallium was negatively correlated with titanium was positively correlated.5.The beneficiation process scandium element in the tailings in the relative enrichment,about 40?g/g.The concentrate in the product contains less scandium(12?g/g),while the titanium concentrate contains more scandium(36?g/g).Indicating that scandium in the beneficiation process relative to the enrichment of titanium concentrates and tailings.6.In Tailings,scandium is mainly enriched in pyroxene and amphibole mixture(68?g/g),followed by ilmenite(33?g/g).Feldspar and magnetite are basically free of scandium.For coarse-grained tailings and fine-grained tailings,scandium content was no significant difference.
