The basic-ultrabasic layered intrusions in the Pan-xi(Panzhihua-Xichang)area are well known in the world for their hosting numerous V-Ti magnetite deposits.Regional south-north trunk fracture tectonic belt and east-west folded basement,constitute the basic characteristics of Pan-xi area structure.Xiushuihe vanadium titanium magnetite deposit is located at the in the south-eastern of Hongge ore field.This article describes the regional geology,mining geology,ore deposit geology and ore characteristics,focusing on the rhythmic features of rock and ore body and summarizing the metallogenic regularity.The ore-bearing rock mass belongs to poor alkali-alkali,poor calcium-calcium,low aluminum,irony and femic,basic-ultrabasic rock mass,similar to Hongge rock mass.Xiushuihe and Hongge rock mass belonged to the same big pluton in diagenetic stage.Xiushuihe pluton separated from the mother rock by destruction of later tectonic activities and cutting of magma,resulting in the current relatively independent basic-ultrabasic rock.The rock mass of Xiushuihe generation era was a little earlier than the period of Emeishan basalt,but both of them are the product of the Late Permian and may be the product of homologous and out-of phase in process of magma evolution.The source of ore-forming material should be mantle derived basaltic magma rich in Fe and Ti.Each ore-bearing layer from bottom to top,ore texturehas a general trend of equant mosaic texture-sideronitic texture-poikilitic texture-interstitial texture,the structure changes from dense block structure to disseminated structure,reflect a certain correlation with ore texture;The content of iron titanium oxides,pyrrhotite and olivine decreases gradually and the pyrite,feldspar and pyroxene are opposite;A consistent rhythmic feature exists between the ore chemical composition,ore texture and structure and ore mineral composition and content;Ore bodies are mainly enriched in the bottom of each ore-bearing layer.The crystallization of iron titanium oxides is earlier than that of gangue minerals in the dense block and dense disseminated ores,while silicate minerals crystallize firstly in sparse and scattered disseminated ores,it cannot be simply classified as deposits in early or late magmatic deposit.Xiushui he vanadium titanium magnetite,formed by multi-cycle,multi-stage pulsating invasion of magma,there are both deep source differentiation and local crystallization differentiation,belongs to the polygenetic compound deposit.Pan-xi basic-ultrabasic rock containing vanadium-titanium magnetite,Emeishan basalt and alkaline rocksconstitute "three-in-one",three symbiosis is an important direction for prospecting,we also need to pay attention to the outcropped area of carbonate and rock combination of gabbro-pyroxenite-olivine pyroxenite with a better rhythmic feature,cooperating physical and chemical exploration methods to carry out prospecting work.
