This paper researches and investigates the current situation,forming condition and predict the development trend of Yuzixi river waterfall hill debris flow groups in Wenchuan earthquake zone in Sichuan Province,and put forward the economical and reasonable prevention measures.At the first,this paper introduces the background of outbreak of the debris flow groups,and pointed out the direct cause of the debris flow groups,and then analysis the gully ratio of slope,basin,source and water features,and summarize the formation conditions and development characteristics of debris flow groups through the geological survey,geological investigation and experiments.Based on the above work,the sediment characteristics of debris flow groups were analyzed,and the characteristic parameters of the debris flow groups were calculated.Then analysis of the prone degree and potential hazards of debris flow by the method of quantitative evaluation of the degree of the debris flow,and forecast the development trend of debris flow in different frequency,different strong earthquakes and different human activities,and put forward economical and reasonable control measures(check dam,retaining wall,grid dam,pick the chute)combined with the threat object of debris flow group.
