X-ray fluorescence analysis technology got rapid development in the early 1950s;In the 60 s,X-ray fluorescence analysis method gained acceptance in this field;In the 80 s,energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis(EDXRF)technology has been widely applied in areas such as ore mining,metallurgy,elemental analysis of alloy and environmental monitoring.Because it has advantages of simple operation,fast analysis speed,simple preparation of sample,simultaneous determination of various elements and low cost,EDXRF method also occupies an important position in the material composition analysis method in the field of frontier science.Limestone ore is a kind of important nonmetallic mineral resource.In the modern industrial development,limestone ore plays an important role in metallurgy,chemical industry,and other aspects,and is an indispensable material in people's daily life.Now days,limestone ore has become the environmental material of the new century and the green mineral resource.The content of calcium in limestone ore is the important evaluation of quality,usage and grade of limestone ore.So it's necessary to determinate the content of calcium in limestone mine accurately.This report illustrates the EDXRF method for determination of Ca content in limestone.Because the Ca elements fluorescence yield is lower and the energy of the X-ray characteristic is low,it's not easy to be detected by EDXRF spectrometer directly,which makes this technology greatly restricted.So improving EDXRF spectrometer and measuring all the elements claim researchers' highest attention.According to this phenomenon,we combine with chemical method and traditional method based on the principle of EDXRF.To the beginning,we make the chemical process of limestone ore samples and crushed limestone.Then we measure the content of Ag,which Ca displaces though the reaction.After that,we calculate the content of Ca through the quantitative relation between Ca and Ag,and optimize the optimum excitation value of Ag and the condition of powder performing sample.The experiment result is 49.28% and the relative error is 1.38% compared with WDXRF method and analysis.The result shows excellent accuracy in this experiment,which can realize quantitative analysis of the Ca element in limestone mine,and provide new train of thought for the determination of other light elements in the future.
