Biodiversity is a necessary condition for human survival and sustainable development, and biodiversity protection is attracting more and more attention.Priority areas are key areas for biodiversity conservation. In this paper, two priority areas, the terrestrial conservation regions in Zhejiang province, were selected as the study area, and according to the existing research results and the status quo of study area,by using remote sensing and geographic information technology,we construct an assessment index system including 9 indicators from three aspects,i.e.biodiversity status, ecosystem service function and ecosystem vulnerability,in order to analyze the current situation of biodiversity comprehensively from multiple perspectives. Then, according to zoning scheme, the priority area is divided into three functional areas,to provide scientific basis for sustainable development of social economy and biodiversity conservation.Main conclusions are as follows:(1)The ecosystems of two priority areas are both dominated by forests, and forest coverage rates are above 80%.Urban ecosystem is growing rapidly, and all ecosystems have been transferred to urban ecosystem. The rapid expansion of the town brings greater pressure on biodiversity conservation.(2)The comprehensive evaluation results of most areas are at a high level, which indicates these areas have rich biodiversity, important ecosystem services, fragile ecosystems, and high protection value.(3)According to the comprehensive evaluation results, combining the relevant planning, two priority areas are divided into three functional areas.Middle-important region(class ?)accounts for the largest proportion in both of the priority areas, followed by very-important region(class ?),and common region(class ?)is the smallest. The proportion of class ?,? and ? in the priority area of Mount Wuyi is 19.42%.68.78%and 11.80%.The proportion of class ?,? and ? in the priority area of Mount Huangshan-Huaiyushan is 21.97%?62.06%?15.97%.(4)Comparing the results, because of the relatively larger area of nature reserve, the priority area of Mount Huangshan-Huaiyushan has a greater proportion of very-important region than that of Mount Wuyi.Forest coverage rate in very-important region of the priority area of Mount Wuyi is far higher than the average level of priority area.Owing to the large water area in Qiandao Lake,Forest coverage rate in very-important region of the priority area of Mount Huangshan-Huaiyushan is less than the average level, and forests and wetlands in total account for 94.49%in very-important region. The proportion of artificial ecosystems such as town in very-important region of two priority areas is much lower than the average.
