With the rapid development of China's economic construction,the domestic expressway,railway,water diversion channel,civil building constructions have also developed rapidly.Many engineering projects are built in the expansive soil.The engineering geological problems which are caused by expansive soil have gradually attracted the high attention from transportation department,railway department,water conservation department and housing bureau.It is necessary to make a large number of theoretical analysis and experimental research.This paper takes the expansive soil's landslide of one middle school in Yunnan Province as the example.On the basis of fully collecting the relevant data and carrying out the exploration trials,this paper elaborates the engineering geological characteristics of the landslide areas and the expansive soil's physical and mechanical characteristics as well as the inflationary trend;This paper also analyzes the landslide's basic characteristic,composition structure,fissure types,deformation and fracture mode,damage degree and development trend.Through experience,trails,back calculation,the author finally determines the physical and mechanics parameters of the landslide's rock and soil,and also determines the expansive force.The author uses the limit equilibrium method to evaluate the stability of the three working conditions: nature working condition,rainstorm working condition,earthquake working condition.By stability analysis,the author gets the conclusion: the landslide is in a stable state under the nature and earthquake working conditions.Under the rainstorm working condition,the landslide is generally in an under stable state,which is not correspond to the actual deformation situation.In this paper,the author proposes the prevention scheme on the basis of the landslide stability's analysis result and the engineering geological condition.The scheme is adopting a comprehensive control method of slide-resistant pile+ retaining wall+ intercepting drain.Namely,the areas of the slope which have the relatively large thrust should be adopted the slide-resistant pile as the supporting structure.As for areas of the slope which have the relatively small thrust,the retaining wall shouldbe adopted as the supporting structure.The intercepting drain should be built behind the slope edge so as to prevent the rainfall's direct washing to the slope.In addition,the author designs the calculation for the main engineering structure.The result shows that the prevention engineering all can satisfy the requirement for landslide control.
