Expansive soil is a special nature of the sticky soil,which has swelling and shrinkage,multi-fracture,weathering characteristics,strength attenuation characteristics and other special properties,it has a large deformation capacity,leading to expansive soil landslides and other geological Disaster,to the region's construction has increased the difficulty.Therefore,it is very important to investigate the expansive soil landslide.This paper takes the expansive soil landslide of an expressway in Ankang Basin as the research object.By collecting literature data and on-site investigation,and conducting indoor experiments,the physical and mechanical properties of geotechnical properties are obtained,and the physical properties,expansion and contraction characteristics of expansive soil in Ankang Basin are summarized.The strength attenuation characteristics are comprehensively analyzed to analyze the basic characteristics,failure mode,formation mechanism and influencing factors of expansive soil landslide.According to the geological study,we carry out the Resistivity Imaging measurement along the Highway.The resistivity results show the expansive soil has the low resistivity anomaly.And we can indicate the expansive soil range in horizontal and vertical direction.We also use the resistivity result for simulation model build based on which the simulation carry out.The SEEP / W module and the SLOPE / W module were used to analyze the numerical simulation of the expansive soil slope in the Geo-Studio analysis software.The effects of different rainfall intensity on the stability of the expansive soil slope are analyzed,and the rainfall rate and the relationship with the safety factor.Finally,based on the geological investigation and resistivity anomaly,we determine the slop type and design technique.Our study on the expansive soil and highway design,we give important information for the highway construction.
