In this dissertation, the basic theory of chaos and the structure, working principle as well as the research progress of Josephson junctions are summarized. Then, the generation of chaos in a series array containing three RCL-shunted intrinsic Josephson junctions is investigated numerically. The results show that the array will be in states of stable period, chaos or hyperchaos with changing of the coupling coefficient and the external bias current. In addition, a scheme of controlling the hyperchaos in the array is presented based on the theory of feedback. And the controlling of spatiotemporal hyperchaos in the array is realized by using this scheme. To have a detail study of the chaos in space, we investigate numerically chaos in a series array consisting of fifty RCL-shunted intrinsic Josephson junctions. Numerical results show that the spatiotemporal chaos can appear in the array with increasing the coupling coefficient or the external bias current. And the parameter ranges of spatiotemporal chaos are given. Finally, two schemes of controlling the spatiotemporal chaos are presented. Numerical results have illustrated that the controlling of spatiotemporal chaos can be completed by using these two schemes.
