Recently chaos control has been an active research field of the nonlinear subject. This new technology promises to have a significant impact on many novel engineering applications. The challenging research field has become a scientific inter-discipline involving many other fields. The emergence of chaos makes us acquaint with the complex nonlinear systems further, and the exerting of the definition of chaos make us know the natural phenomena better.In the paper, series of definitions about chaotic dynamics system are summed up, several methods for judging whether a system is a chaotic one is discussed, property analyses of chaotic systems is studied and rudimentary characteristic of chaotic motion is generalized. Two kinds of nonlinear systems are analyzed in this paper. Melnikov function is used to study the vibration systems. The critical conditions which could lead to chaotic motion are given. Numerical simulation results of bifurcation and chaos are provided. Some simple and useful methods are introduced in this paper. Periodical exciting force and delayed self-controlling feedbackmethod are used to control the above systems, and series periodic motions are achieved. The calculator simulations show that the chaos of the above system can be controlled effectively by adjusting proper controlling signals.
