The paper deals with the spatio-temporal chaos controlling problem of the coupled maplattice and of the open-flow coupled map lattice. Four actual methods, delayed feedback,prediction feedback, double feedback and linear feedback, are employed to control the modesof spatio-temporal chaos under the control of point-to-point or pinnings. Moreover,correctness and effectiveness of theoretical results are proven by numerical simulations andcontrolled condition is discussed from the theory side. The theoretical analysis of the delayed control usually need enhance the dimension of asystem to obtain the stable condition, it is hard for application. So the paper presents a methodby which there is no need to enhance the dimension of a system in analyzing the controlcondition. Numerical calculation results have perfectly demonstrated that the method we proposedis correct and feasible. In the same way, the thoughts and method can be applied in thecontrolling spatio-temporal chaos by prediction feedback and double feedback .All thetheoretical analysis results are corresponding to numerical calculation results. Furthermore, according to the simplicity application of linear feedback controlling isapplied easily in the experiment and object of simplifying process of a theoretical analysis,the paper proposes actual controlling method. At last, simplicity, effectiveness and feasibilityof this method in the theoretical analysis are verified on some practical system models.
