In recent years,Digital city has been becoming the focus of research hotspot graduall, The three-dimensional geographic information system is an important part of digital city, the widely application of its production technology is an inevitable requirement in the development of geographic information systems industry. There are many ways to make 3d software, but each has advantages and disadvantages. This article is divided into four modules from the perspective of building three-dimensional geographic information system of city.Firstly, with analyzing several mainstream modeling patterns finally determined to combine MultiGen Creator, 3ds Max modeling with AutoCAD to model base on the principles of model.Secondly, this article has researched the procession of three-dimensional city modeling, then quickly made the data of two-dimensional which has existed in the geographic information system into 3 d model, and imported into GIS software to generat the 3d scene.Thirdly, choosing the area of cangshan in fuzhou city as my research object for practising. Finally, discussing the key technologies of this paper.Based on the technology of 3D city modeling, it proposes a method of three-dimensional ground landscape modeling that provides a convenient and feasible modeling way for wide application in the geographic information system. This modeling method of combination by a variety of softwares provides a new way of thinking for the construction work of building 3 d model, changes the traditional way, promotes more reasonable city planning and realizes sustainable development of the city. It is of great significance to the construction of "wisdom" fuzhou.
